Uses: Primarily used as a coccidiocide. Its mechanism involves interfering with nuclear division and mitochondria of coccidia, disrupting respiratory and metabolic functions, causing dilation of the endoplasmic reticulum and severe vacuolization, leading to parasite death. It mainly acts on the schizogony and gametogony stages. Used in veterinary medicine, e.g., in oral paste for horses against protozoa.
